According to the 2022 first quarter report published by DenizTemiz Association/TURMEPA, between September 21, 2021 and March 2022, sea brooms recycled 28,290 kilograms and approximately 30 tons of waste.

It was determined that the waste collected by sea brooms is equal to the daily waste produced by approximately 25 thousand people.
Within the scope of the project, one third of approximately 30 tons of waste collected by sea sweepers, that is, 11 tons, is produced from bags, plastic bottles, etc. reported to be composed of plastic waste. Within the scope of the cleanness, 2.7 tons of clothing and weaving materials, 2.5 tons of metal, 1.8 tons of fishing nets, 4.5 tons of sea saliva and marine litter were collected from the Sea of Marmara.
In the awareness raising leg of the project, online trainings are held at the secondary school level, trainings on “Global Climate Change, Global Climate Change and Our Seas, Sea Slob (Mucilage), Pollution Sources, Zero Waste Movement, Sustainable Development Aspirations and Carbon Emission”. . Since the beginning of the project, 20,371 students and teachers have been reached in 107 institutions in total, with online trainings held in Kocaeli, Istanbul and Bursa, respectively.
