Valuable step for foreign language education

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer was the guest of Hakan Çelik on CNN Türk. Minister Özer said, “We will handle this. Your work has also been finalized. Now we will change the methodology and learning approach. Hopefully, we will try the first applications in summer schools. Hopefully, with the feedback we receive in summer schools, we will use these findings in the education system in the 2022-2023 academic year. We will use this for the first time. At the moment “We start with English. Then we will include Arabic. Then we will develop approaches in French and German. But first we need to solve the English problem of the large student body,” he said.

National Education Minister Mahmut Özer said that teachers are extremely devoted and said, “We have a huge education system. It was not possible to normalize Turkey without normalizing our education system. The Ministry of National Education has fulfilled a great mission in this sense. We completed the 2021-2022 education period with face-to-face education.”

Noting that they did not leave the students alone in the summer, Özer continued his words as follows: “We will deal with this. Your studies are also finalized. Our students will have differences from students from other countries. What happened in these geographies, what events took place. Literacy needs to increase. Our goal in school libraries is 100 million books. We want to make libraries the heart of schools.

It is not possible for us to say no to technology, but we need to use it rationally. There are 855 thousand classes in total. However, if we put it in a very different context and let it stay in touch with technology day and night, other problems will arise. There is no problem with our internet face in schools.

The difference in digital literacy emerging in the Kovid process. Benefiting from distance education has not been equal for everyone. As a ministry, we continue our training in our focus for professional and leadership development.

It is the integration process for our disabled brothers and sisters to participate in education all over the world. This is the trend in mildly disabled people. It follows the same model in Turkey. We also have special education schools and special education kindergartens for our students who are not in this form. We stand by our brothers and families with incredible opportunities for the disabled. We don’t have a supply issue. We even provide facilities from more than one country in Continental Europe.”
