US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said that after AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s announcement that a new military operation would be launched in Syria, the US State Department and Ankara Embassy contacted the relevant authorities in Turkey.
Ministry spokesman Ned Price answered questions about the bets on the agenda at the daily press conference.
Recalling President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s statement that new steps will be taken to create “safe zones” in Syria, Price responded to the question whether Washington had made any diplomatic attempt to persuade Ankara:
