USA: Finland and Sweden took valuable steps to resolve Turkey’s concerns

US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan made statements on the plane to journalists traveling from Germany to Spain with US Leader Joe Biden.

Noting that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Biden are expected to have a meeting tomorrow, Sullivan said, “The two presidents will have the chance to spend time together on strategic and regional issues between the United States and Turkey. The NATO membership of Sweden and Finland will also be on the agenda, but the main focus will be on the meeting. We don’t expect it to happen.” he said she.

Stressing that Sweden and Finland will not mediate on NATO membership, Sullivan said, “We believe that Finland and Sweden have taken valuable steps to resolve Turkey’s concerns. We have full faith that it will be completely resolved and that these countries will become NATO members. ” he said.
