The USA moved the Ukrainian Embassy from Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine, to the city of Lviv, located on the Polish border, before the Russian incursions.
In a written statement, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that the US Embassy in Ukraine has been relocated to Kyiv.
“Today, we officially resume operations at the US Embassy in Kyiv. The Ukrainian people have defended their homeland against the inconceivable invasion of Russia with our security assistance, and as a result, the US flag is once again flying at the Embassy. “We stand proudly and continue to support the Ukrainian government and people, who are defending their country against the brutal aggression of the Kremlin,” he said.
Stating that additional measures were taken for the safety of the embassy employee who returned to Kyiv, Blinken emphasized that security measures and protocols were developed and said, “We are determined to face the challenges ahead. The war is heating up. Russian forces bring death and destruction to Ukrainian soil every day. Millions of Ukrainians are leaving their homes and mourning the loss of loved ones. “We reaffirm our commitment to the Ukrainian people and government and look forward to fulfilling our mission from the US Embassy in Kyiv.”
