A defense ministry official, who made evaluations on the Russia-Ukraine war and did not want to be named, told a group of journalists at the Pentagon that they always evaluated Ukraine’s military needs in the war in some form and that they would continue to help the Ukrainian army, especially its air defense capacity.
Responding to a question about whether or not to give fighter jets to Ukraine, the official said, “Warplanes will of course be evaluated in terms of Ukraine’s needs in the future. They currently have planes and they have been effective in using them under those troublesome rules. It’s one of those capabilities that has to be the module of our evaluation over the long term.” he said.
‘RUSSIA MADE A GIANT WRONG AND WRONG ACCOUNT’
On the other hand, assessing the course of the war, the official said, “The Russian political and military administration made many colossal mistakes and miscalculations not only in the reinforcement of the international community to Ukraine, but also in its own arms.” he used his words.
Stating that they have seen many weak points of the Russian army, the official stated that the effect of the weapons provided by the USA on Russia’s operations in the east of Ukraine, which Russia considers to be advantageous, has become clearer over time.
A US military official who made an assessment to reporters said that they saw the Ukrainian army continuing to advance in the south and east of the country.
Stating that the Russian army withdrew from the Kharkov region to the Russia-Ukraine border without any mistake, the military official said that they evaluated that many settlements in the region, especially Izyum, were in the hands of Ukraine.
The military official stated that the raids around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant continue, and that the Ukrainian army in Herzon made progress in a deliberate and measured way.
