Japan and the US hold military exercises after North Korea’s missile test
According to the statement made by the Ministry of Defense, Japan and the United States held a military exercise in response to Pyongyang’s 8 short-range ballistic missile launches over the weekend.
Four F-15s from the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (ASDF) from Chitose base and two F-16s from the US Air Force from Misawa base participated in the exercise.
It was emphasized that the exercise drew attention to “the strong desire of Japan and the United States to intervene in any situation” and “close cooperation to strengthen their bilateral alliance”.
The last military exercise was recorded as the second military exercise organized by the USA and Japan in the last two weeks.
The two countries held a similar military exercise on May 25, when North Korea tested 3 ballistic missiles, one of which was intercontinental.
With the last test on June 5, North Korea has carried out the 17th missile test since the beginning of 2022.
