Three airlines, Aeroflot, Ural Airlines and Rossiya Airlines, will not be able to sell their £50m worth of unused landing pads at any UK airport within the scope of sanctions, the UK Foreign Office said in a statement.

In the, it was noted that the statement undermined damaged Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ability to wage war and vital supply chains.

“WE WILL CONTINUE TO TAKE THE RUSSIAN ECONOMY AS A PURPOSE”

Foreign Minister Liz Truss, whose views were included in the statement, said, “We basically closed our airport to Russian airlines. As long as Putin continues his barbaric attack on Ukraine, we will continue to aim for the Russian economy.”

Emphasizing that every economic sanction reinforces the clear message they gave to Putin, Truss underlined that they will not stop until Ukraine is victorious.

Britain banned Russian private jets from using the airport on February 25, following Russia’s war on Ukraine. In retaliation, Russia announced that it closed the airport to British planes with the same historical prestige.
