The size of Turkey’s information and communication technologies department reached 266 billion liras.
ISTANBUL (IGFA) – Informatics Industry Association (TÜBİSAD) announced its 2021 “Information and Contact Technology Department Market Data” report at a meeting attended by the leading names of the department.
According to the report, the size of the department in our country in Turkish Lira reached 266 billion TL in 2021, an increase of 36 percent compared to the previous year.
In the sector, exports of 17.5 billion TL were realized in 2021 with an increase of 58 percent compared to the previous year.
TUBISAD Executive Council Leader Levent Kızıltan drew attention to the fact that the financial issues in Turkey and the increases in power inputs are going through a period where the rise in commodity prices around the world. Stating that the global supply chain problems caused many works not to be on the shelves around the world, Kızıltan said, “When the setbacks brought about by the war in Ukraine are added to these, the raw material supply deadlines increase. In fact, these negative factors once again highlight the vital importance of technology and digital transformation. It is also understood that a changing world due to COVID-19, changing work habits, different and contemporary business models, and that these need to be compatible with humans and our social environments.”
On the other hand, when we look at the distributions in the middle of the categories, the biggest share was bought by IT software, as last year, while the exports in this category grew by 62 percent and reached approximately 15 billion TL. The exports of Information and Communication Technologies branch increased by 30% in 2021 compared to the previous year and reached 2 billion dollars in dollar terms.
