The Ministry of Commerce blocked the entry of 1.2 million unbeliever works into the country in the first three months.

According to the information obtained from the Ministry of Commerce, the controls carried out with the aim of preventing the health, safety and environmental damage of the works to be placed on the market through imports are continued meticulously.

“As a result of the controls carried out over the Risk Based Control System in Foreign Trade (TAREKS), the unsafe-inappropriate works are either destroyed or sent to the country they came from.

Due to the fact that the audits are risk-based, the focus is on the controls of risky companies and works instead of companies that have met certain standards in their works and have a sufficient performance history in this direction.

In this context, 605 thousand applications were made to TAREKS for industrial works in the first quarter of this year. As a result of the “TAREKS Risk Analysis”, 552 thousand of the applications subject to the word were deemed risk-free and allowed to be imported, while 1 billion imported works from toys to medical devices, from mobile phones to rebars, from shoes to apparel were inspected within the scope of 53 thousand applications.

Among the inspected works, 1.2 million works worth 2.5 million dollars were found unbelieving and they were not allowed to enter the country. In the middle of these are personal protective artifacts such as 44 thousand medical devices, 61 thousand toys, 72 thousand work gloves, helmets and protective clothing.

In the first three months of this year, 104 thousand of 170 thousand applications for export agricultural works were not inspected as risk-free as a result of TAREKS Risk Analysis, while 66 thousand applications were taken under commercial quality control.

Within the scope of the aforementioned 66 thousand applications, 729 thousand tons of fresh vegetables and fruits, dried and dried products, vegetable oils and some other agricultural products were subjected to commercial quality control with the aim of protecting the image of Turkish goods abroad.

During the inspections, 50 thousand tons of exported agricultural works worth 42.6 million dollars and 2 thousand tons of imported agricultural products at a cost of 1.9 million dollars did not pass the commercial quality controls.
