President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the Crimean Platform Online Leaders Hill with a video message.
ANKARA (IGFA) – President Erdoğan attended the Crimean Platform Online Leaders’ Summit with a video presentation
Greeting the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy, other state and government leaders and representatives of international organizations, who attended the summit with respect, President Erdoğan stated that he is pleased to address the hill held on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of the establishment of the Crimean Platform.
Thanking the President of Ukraine, Zelenskiy, for his kind invitation, President Erdoğan stated that they found the platform established to defend the Crimean cause more actively through peaceful means and that they supported it.
Reminding that they showed their support to the top of the organization held in Kyiv last year with the participation of Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, President Erdoğan said that they will continue to contribute to the work of the platform at all levels in the coming period.
“IT IS REQUIRED BY INTERNATIONAL LAW”
Emphasizing that Turkey does not recognize the annexation of Crimea and has openly defended that this step is illegitimate and unlawful since day one, President Erdoğan said: “This is an elemental stance that has not only moral but also moral foundations. The return of Crimea to Ukraine, of which it is an inseparable module, is fundamental. With its prestige, it is a requirement of international law. The protection of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and political unity is critical not only for regional but also for global security and stability. Ensuring the security and well-being of our Crimean-Tatar cognates, one of the indigenous peoples of Crimea, is also in the middle of Turkey’s priorities. “Our Crimean Tatar citizens are close followers of the developments in Crimea. On this occasion, I reiterate our expectation that the First Deputy Leader of the Crimean Tatar National Assembly Nariman Celal and his friends, who were detained after attending the first summit of the platform in Kyiv last year, will return to their homes and families as soon as possible,” he said.
President Erdoğan stated that the Crimean Tatars, who have suffered great pains throughout history, are making a rightful effort to live in peace in their homeland, and that Turkey will continue to stand by the Ukrainian government and the Crimean Tatars in this process.
President Erdoğan stated that they support the need to end the war that has been going on since February 24 with a just peace on the basis of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. In his statement, Erdogan said, “We once again demonstrated this situation during my visit to Lviv on August 18. However, the preservation of the momentum and its transformation into permanent results depends on the steps that the parties will take towards peace. The end of the Black Sea pressure and the peace and stability of the Black Sea pressure will take a deep breath, not only for the region, but for the whole world. With these convictions, I repeat our reinforcement of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea , and hope that our region will regain a climate of peace as soon as possible. I send my respect and greetings to you all, my most heartfelt thanks. I’m presenting you. Stay well.” used his words.
