Kayseri Governor Gökmen Çiçek and Metropolitan Municipality Leader Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç participated in the walk organized in Koramaz Valley, a unique natural wonder full of historical and cultural riches, which has been included in the UNESCO Discontinuous World Heritage List as a result of the efforts of the Metropolitan Municipality. Before the march, Governor Çiçek and Leader Büyükkılıç together with their spouses visited the residence of Mimar Sinan in Ağırnas District, where they were born, and made investigations in Ağırnas Underground City. Leader Büyükkılıç gave information about Ağırnas Underground City during the trip and mentioned that Ağırnas Underground City sheds light on world history.
Governor Çiçek and Leader Büyükkılıç came to the center and chatted with the citizens at Koramaz Cafe, which is operated by the Metropolitan Municipality as the place where Kayseri cuisine meets history. Later, as part of the 1-7 June Environment Week, Governor Çiçek and Leader Büyükkılıç participated in the environmental march, which was held simultaneously in 81 provinces with the slogan of “81 Billion Steps in 81 Provinces” by the Environment Urbanism and Climate Change Directorate in Koramaz Valley. walking and making assessments.
Speaking at the nature walk, Leader Büyükkılıç stated that they are working to ensure that the valley, which is included in the UNESCO Discontinuous Heritage List, remains permanently, and said, “We are in the Koramaz Valley, where our Architect Sinan was born. We will continue to work on our valley, which has been included in the UNESCO’s Permanent Heritage List, in cooperation with our very expensive governor,” he said.
