The Jordanian army made statements regarding the smuggling operation on the Syrian border.
It was noted that with the operation, the entry of drugs and smuggling attempts were prevented, and the rules of engagement were implemented against smugglers supported by different armed groups.
It was reported that 4 smugglers were killed and some were injured in the operation in question, while others fled back to Syrian territory.
In the statement, it was also stated that 637 thousand captagons, 181 pieces of cannabis and 39 thousand 600 tramadol pills in small packages, as well as one Kalashnikov rifle were seized during the search and scanning activities in the region.
Jordan has been the scene of smuggling attempts as a result of the deteriorating security situation, particularly in its border neighbors Syria and Iraq.
