International coalition step for Ukraine from the UK and the Netherlands

The statement noted that the two leaders emphasized the importance of working together to tackle common challenges such as illegal immigration and the threat posed by Russia.

During the meeting, the leaders also discussed the Russia-Ukraine war, and the following statements were included in the statement:

“Sunak and Rutte agreed that they will work to form an international coalition that will support Ukraine in everything from training to the supply of F-16 jets to provide combat air capabilities. Sunak reiterated his belief that Ukraine has the place it deserves in NATO. and leaders agreed on the importance of allies providing long-term security assistance to Ukraine so that they can deter future attacks.

In addition, the statement noted that the two leaders agreed to continue working together to combat human trafficking in the European continent, both bilaterally and through forums such as the European Political Community.

In another statement made by the Prime Minister’s Office Number 10, it was reported that Sunak met with Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Union (EU) Commission, at the summit margin in Reykjavik.

In the statement, it was stated that with a new working arrangement between the British institutions and the EU’s border protection agency Frontex, the UK and the EU have reached an agreement to strengthen cooperation on migration.

It was also noted in the statement that the UK and EU teams will discuss the details and operationalization of this new working arrangement.
