İmamoğlu made an invitation: Citizens celebrated 19 May in Maltepe

İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu spoke at the 19 May celebration event held in Maltepe.

İmamoğlu, who went to the podium with his wife Dilek İmamoğlu, took off his jacket again at the insistence of the audience.

Dedicating his entire short speech from the podium to the youth, İmamoğlu said the following at the event:

“You are the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who gave us this belief and this determination, and you young people walking in his footsteps. When Mustafa Kemal Atatürk met that spirit, he was a young man at the age of 38. He was very young when he went to Samsun. Next to him were young men who were ready to give their lives for the sake of this country. Believe me, they lived very close to you. There was Hasan, son of Private Mehmet from Kadıköy. There was Private İhsanoğlu Mehmet Lütfü from Üsküdar. There was Adam, the head of Çatalca. The Republic of Türkiye has come to these days with the determination and courage of the youth. Young people have always been at the forefront in wartime at the front and in peacetime production. Do not forget, dear young people; You have always been ahead, you will always be at the forefront. Be aware of your strength. And never shy away from the truth you know.

“ATATÜRK STARTED WITH THE STRENGTH HE GOT FROM YOUTH”

Because young people cannot breathe without it. If there is no right, law and justice, the rest is empty. Remember; Atatürk set out with the great strength he received from the youth. He knew very well what young people could achieve with his young delegation. What did he do to our Republic? Again, he entrusted it to you dear young people. He entrusted the daughters and sons of this nation, this country. Those who do not give the young people the value they deserve, and those who do not respect the young, have no place in the future of this country.

“NOT A HANDLE OF PEOPLE, YOUTH WIN”

The time of those who tried to take away the freedom and hope of the youth is over. Young people will now build the life they dreamed of here, in their own homeland, in Istanbul, with their own hands. The dark clouds will disperse and youth will win. Young people will win. Because, dear young people, hope always wins, not discouragement. Hope is you, Hope, yourself; remember. And dear young people; Those who dare, always win, not those who complain. The brave win. Those who set out win, not those who stop and wait. Dear young people, remember; not a handful of people, the youth wins, the nation wins, the nation. Have fun. May your freedom be forever. Peace and tranquility be with you. May God be with you. Happy May 19th. Stay well. Long live the Republic, long live Mustafa Kemal Atatürk”
