Greek President announced: We want dialogue with Turkey

President of Greece, Katerina Sakelaropulu, made evaluations about international developments and Greece’s foreign policy, as well as domestic troubles, in an interview with Greek State Television ERT.

Katerina Sakelaropulu, emphasizing that Turkey and Greece are two neighboring countries, said, “We have had long periods of peace and tranquility. Neighbors need each other. As we have seen in Meriç and the Aegean lately, we also had times of trouble. “I think Greece is doing it right by stating that it wants dialogue. We want dialogue. There should be a dialogue with our neighbors,” he said.

his Presidency, and said the following about his frequent visits to border regions:

“People living in these regions live in special conditions. Island Greece and the mountainous regions have special rules. There are communication difficulties. It is not good for them to feel isolated and to feel that we have somehow forgotten them.”

Sakelaropulu, mentioning that the Ukrainian war surprised everyone, noted that the Ukrainians were fighting for European costs, and therefore they saw great reinforcements from Europe.
