Finnish Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto said that she thinks they can solve all the issues that Turkey raises.
Minister Haavisto made statements about NATO membership in the program broadcast jointly by Swedish state television SVT and Finnish state television YLE.
Reminding that Sweden and Finland will not approve NATO membership if Turkey’s requests are not fulfilled, Haavisto said, “We met with Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde and Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Saturday. I have been to Turkey twice “Our President called President (Recep Tayyip) Erdogan on the phone before and spoke. I think we can solve all the problems that Turkey has brought to the agenda,” he said.
Haavisto noted that due to Turkey’s objections, Finland and Sweden’s accession period to NATO may be prolonged. )
