The Confederation of Revolutionary Personnel Unions of Turkey (DİSK) has announced its views and demands regarding the base price on its social media account.

ANKARA (IGFA) – DİSK has published the opinions and demands of 10 items regarding the minimum price.

In the post made from the social media account, it was emphasized that the minimum price should be taken into account when determining the base price, and that the minimum price increase should be based on gross domestic product.

Other demands of DISK are as follows:

– The gross floor price must be paid net.
The SGK premium share of the base-priced personnel should be covered from the budget. The government has been providing employers with 5 points of SSI premium reinforcement for 14 years. Something like this should be done for the worker. The SSI premium share of the employees should be covered from the budget during the high inflation period.

– All prices up to twice the base price in the period of high inflation should be exempted from tax.
In the era of high inflation, prices decrease with inflation on the one hand and taxes and deductions on the other. The tax exemption provided for the minimum price should be increased up to twice the base price in the period of high inflation (until inflation falls below 10 percent). Back tax should not be levied on prices up to twice the base price.

– The first tax bracket rate after the base price should be reduced to 10 percent.
In addition to the tax exemption provided for the minimum price, the tariff rate to be applied to the first tax bracket after the base price should also be reduced to 10 percent. In this way, employees working at prices close to the minimum price pay less tax.

– Income tax tariff brackets should be increased at least as much as the minimum price increase.
The wage earners pay more taxes every year because of the increase in the tax tariff brackets less than the inflation and the base price increase. Tax tariff segments should be increased at least as much as the base price increase.

-The minimum price should be determined in accordance with international rules, and the personnel and their families should be taken into account together.
In Turkey, international standards are not followed in the determination of the floor price. The family of the employee is not taken into account in determining the minimum price. The ILO Convention No. 131 on minimum price determination should be ratified, and the reservation on the European Social Charter regarding the minimum price should be lifted.

– The minimum price should be determined four times a year during the period of high inflation.
The floor price should be set quarterly (4 times a year) until inflation falls below 10 percent. After July, the minimum price should be determined again in October.

– The lowest pension should be raised to the base price level.
Before the article 5510, which was issued in 2008, pensions lower than the minimum price were not in question. Today, pensions are rounded off to 2,500 TL with the headlight covered by the Treasury. The pension of the pensioner with the lowest pension is 42 percent below the minimum price. This injustice must be corrected.

– The unemployment insurance fund should not be used for supplements.

No other minimum price is acceptable for small businesses. Budget and Treasury resources should be used in the reinforcements to be given to small-scale enterprises for a minimum price. The Unemployment Insurance Fund should not be used for base price bases.
