Lafarge is accused of distributing millions of euros in bribes to terrorist groups, including Daesh, in order to continue his activities in Syria between 2013-2014.

In the judicial process initiated before the Paris Court in 2017, it was revealed that approximately 13 million euros were distributed to terrorist groups and intermediaries, primarily DAESH, in the north of Syria, by the Syrian branch of the group to which the company is affiliated, in 2013 and 2014.

Lafarge invested 680 million euros for its factory in Syria, which was completed in 2010.
The Paris Court of Appeal rejected the application to file a lawsuit against Lafarge in November 2019, but the Supreme Court overturned this decision and returned the document to the Court of Appeal.
