Half of the goal in grain exports was reached in the first five months.
ISTANBUL (IGFA) – Istanbul Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association (IHBIR) announced the export numbers of the grain division.
Being in the middle of the world’s valuable grain producers, Turkey also accelerated in exports.
While the May exports of Istanbul Cereals, Pulses, Oil Seeds and Products Exporters’ Association (İHBİR) increased by 15.75 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, to 223.1 million dollars, Turkey’s overall May exports increased by 43.41 percent to 874.4 percent . million dollars.
Kazım Taycı, Leader of the IHBIR Board of Directors; Noting that the cereals, pulses, oilseeds and products sector exported 4.46 billion dollars in the first 5 months, he noted that they reached half of their year-end goal of 9 billion dollars.
Drawing attention to Turkey’s power in production, Taycı said that the sector continues on its way with a rapid acceleration in exports. Taycı stated that they will carry out special studies for the Asian and Latin American markets, which they have not been able to enter much until now, and said, “If we manage to hold on to markets such as China, Korea and Japan, we can increase the export of the branch much higher.”
