In the statement made by the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was reported that within the scope of the sanctions, three airline companies Aeroflot, Ural Airlines and Rossiya Airlines will not be able to sell their £50 million unused landing pads at any airport in the UK.

In the statement, it was noted that the hindered Russian President Vladimir Putin’s ability to continue the war and damaged vital supply chains.

Foreign Minister Liz Truss, whose views are included in the statement, said, “We actually closed our airport to Russian airlines. As long as Putin continued his barbaric attack on Ukraine, the Russian economy would not be affected. We will continue to aim.”

Emphasizing that every economic sanction reinforces the clear message they gave to Putin, Truss underlined that they will not stop until Ukraine is victorious.

Britain banned Russian private jets from using The airport on February 25, following Russia’s war on Ukraine. In retaliation, Russia announced that it closed the airport to British planes with the same historical prestige.
