Diyarbakir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO) Council Member and Foreign Trade Committee Leader Baran Turk made an assessment of the 2022 January-July export numbers announced by the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly.

In the statement, which includes the words of Parliament Member and Foreign Trade Council Leader Baran Türk, “Diyarbakir’s exports, which were 115 million 372 thousand dollars in the first 7 months of 2021, increased by 41 percent in the first 7 months of 2022 and reached 163 million 721 thousand dollars. out,” he said.

Emphasizing that Diyarbakir exports the most to Iraq, Türk said, “The number of exports to Iraq increased by 8 percent compared to the previous year and reached the level of 62 million 431 thousand dollars. Iraq was followed by Iran with 25 million 698 thousand dollars, while China, Tajikistan and Germany were the top five countries. This shows that the development of trade with Iraq is an extremely valuable element. Because of this, we should make all the physical infrastructures that will develop trade with Iraq, especially the Habur Customs Gate, more equipped, and especially we should facilitate the visa processes.

Stating that Diyarbakir as a sector exports the most in the field of chemical elements and products in 2022, Türk emphasized that another remarkable situation as well as the increase and rate of Diyarbakir exports is the exports made through the Diyarbakir Customs Directorate. Türk said that while 28 million 380 thousand dollars were exported in the 2022 January-July 2021 January-July period, it was realized as 60 million 575 thousand dollars with an increase of 113 percent in the 2022 January-July period.

Türk thanked Diyarbakır Customs Manager Mustafa Karacaoğlu and his group for their efforts, which contributed to the export of Diyarbakır with a record increase of 113 percent.
