9.8 million dollars income from tea exports

Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKİB) Executive Council Deputy Leader Ahmet Hamdi Gürdoğan told Anadolu Agency (AA) that tea was exported to 93 countries in 5 months of the year.

Stating that 2,982 tons of tea were exported in the January-May period, Gürdoğan stated that 9 million 801 thousand 535 dollars benefit was obtained from the export, which is the subject of the word.

Gürdoğan noted that in the same period last year, 8 million 511 thousand 977 dollars were obtained in return for the export of 2 thousand 115 tons of tea, and continued as follows:

“Tea exports increased by 41 percent in terms of size and 15 percent in price compared to the same period last year. Belgium, Germany and the United Kingdom became the 3 countries to which tea was exported the most. 2 million 237 thousand 680 dollars to Bekçika, 1 million 484 thousand to Germany. Tea exports were made for 780 dollars and to the United Kingdom for 1 million 248 thousand 404 dollars.

Noting that the diversity of countries has increased in parallel with the increase in exports, Gürdoğan noted that tea was sold to Hungary, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gambia, Kenya, Estonia, Czechia and Mayotte, different from last year.

Pointing out that their expectations are high based on the export potential, Gürdoğan added that they plan to complete the year with very pleasant numbers in tea exports.
