According to officials in the Dima Hasao district of the Indian state of Assam, some train stations were unable to operate due to flooding, while 200,000 people lost touch with the rest of the state as roads and bridges to the state were flooded and landslides.

In Assam, 4 people lost their lives due to flooding.

The military deployed helicopters to assist in the rescue effort.

On the other hand, heavy rains and mudslides were experienced in the state of Arunachal Pradesh yesterday.

While 2 people died as a result of the collapse of small houses in the capital city of the state, Itanagar, 2 personnel working in road construction died due to landslides in another place.

The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that heavy rainfall will continue in the region for the next 4 days.

In 2020, nearly 200 people died due to floods in the state of Uttarakhand.
